Nick Packet has 17 years of medical device packaging experience. He joined the DuPont™ Tyvek® Healthcare team in 2017, where he supports medical device companies in their development and qualification of sterile packaging systems. With a broad perspective of the market, Packet provides technical support and insights around packaging trends, as well as works with MDMs to better understand the total lifecycle of their products and how packaging can play a positive role. The DuPont™ Tyvek® Healthcare group is a member of the Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC), of which Packet (with a strong interest in sustainability) is an active participant. He supported the Flexible Packaging Recycling Study and, most recently, lead a project team exploring advanced recycling processes and their ability to handle healthcare plastics. In supporting these different programs, he’s had the opportunity to present at the 2019 HealthPack conference and MDM West event, as well as participate in panel discussions at the Re|focus conference. Packet strives to learn how MDMs view and approach sustainability in their packaging designs and how these decisions play a part in the sustainability of the entire packaging system, and, ultimately, influence how a package is handled at its end of life.
